On Wednesday, April 24, the spring edition of Dé Logistieke Speeddate (DLS) took place at Royal FloraHolland in Aalsmeer. During this event, 70 dates took place between logistics HBO/ WO students and young professionals from all over the Netherlands and the participating companies. In a low-threshold and efficient manner, participants spent 15 minutes in conversation with the seven logistics companies present.
Speeddates
At 9:30 the event got underway with a brief welcome and a presentation about Royal FloraHolland by Rens Peperkoorn. This was followed by a brief explanation of the match schedule. The participants had registered for the event in advance. The match schedule took into account the wishes of both the companies and the participants.
After all the companies had taken their seats, that was it … the speed dates! In 15-minutes, each participant was given time not only to introduce and sell themselves, but also to learn more about the company and maybe even arrange on-the-spot their internship, thesis project or job. A total of 70 speed dates took place!
College tour sessions
In addition to the speed dates, there was the opportunity to engage in conversation with Royal FloraHolland’s COO, Leendert-Jan Plaisier, and Logistics Manager Rogier de Kreek. In a lecture tour setting, participants were able to ask everything from these gentlemen. The variety of questions was great, from discussing the auction to the biggest mistake of their careers. For all participants, it was a great opportunity to best prepare for a logistics career!
Next edition
We are extremely happy that we were able to welcome all students, young professionals and companies in Aalsmeer.
