Review of visit to Royal FloraHolland

On Tuesday, April 22, Jong Logistiek Nederland visited Royal FloraHolland in Aalsmeer.

The visit began in the old auction room, where we were able to get to know each other briefly over coffee and tea. Because there is so much to see at Royal FloraHolland, we soon went up the balustrade for an extended tour with team managers Ramon, Kwasi and Kevin.

On behalf of Jong Logistiek Nederland and all attendees, we thank Myrthe Kuik for the organization, and her colleagues for their enthusiasm during the tour!

VLM Summer Event & ALV

On Thursday, June 12, our partner association Vereniging Logistiek Management (VLM) is organizing a general membership meeting (ALV) at Tempo-Team’s headquarters in Diemen. As a member of Jong Logistiek Nederland, you are automatically also a member of VLM, and therefore welcome to the ALV. An important update will also be shared … so be there!

Following this, the Summer Event will start, with the theme: “The future of supply chains: smart automation, human control!”. From Tempo-Team’s impressive Experience Center, keynote speakers Paul Brolly and Ralph Smeets (Arvato) and Bram Kranenburg (CQM), among others, will take you into the world of innovation and collaboration. Moderator Diana Vink, an experienced logistics professional and chairman, will provide content and interaction.

Introducing

In every newsletter a board member introduces himself, this time it is my turn.

My name is Ruben Luijendijk and since January 2024 I am the treasurer of Jong Logistiek Nederland. I joined the association in 2020 and soon became involved as an ambassador. In addition to my role at JLN, I work as a Process Engineer at DHL Supply Chain in Tiel.

My passion for logistics stems from my fascination with understanding the world around me in detail. What I like about logistics is that it is connected to everything, that way you can create a complete overview. My involvement with JLN comes from my interest in how an association like this works behind the scenes, and fits well with my affinity for numbers.

Within JLN I want to make connections between Young Professionals and Professionals, to come to new insights together and help each other further. So my favorite quote is from Harvey Mackay: “Networking is not a numbers game. It is a game to connect with people you can count on.”

Company visit Port of Moerdijk

On Wednesday, June 18, Jong Logistiek Nederland and Rail Cargo information Netherlands are organizing a visit to Port of Moerdijk with the theme of multimodality.

The port offers solutions by road, water, rail, making it a vital hub of multimodality for the region and for Europe.

The afternoon starts at 2:30 p.m. at Passant restaurant. There, four speakers will share more about their company’s activities at the port. We will then board a coach for an extensive tour of CCT’s multimodal terminal. This way you can see for yourself how the port puts multimodality into practice. We end the day with a social drink upon our return.

The event is open to members of JLN and VLM, and students and young professionals up to age 30.
